Welcome to Sophie's World

This website is dedicated to Sophia Lee and her family.

Well it has been while. If you have been following the site, the pictures have been updated, you can see month 10 pictures.

Sophie is sooo cute we can't take it. She is already furniture cruising and will be walking soon. We made a little pen for her and she hates it. She acts like we are putting her in prison and peers through the "bars".

We will be visiting Atlanta for Christmas, so if anyone is in the area give us a call.

We just celebrated Sophie's 100 day in Portland. You can check out some pictures as well as some other month 4 pictures.  We have added the first video which you can find here.

It is a joy to be with Sophie. Everyday is a minor miracle. Having a child truly changes one's life for the better. I don't get to watch movies as often but Sophie is the best entertainment that we could ask for. Just the other day she started to grab and play with her feet. The first time she gagged on her own thumb freaked us out, but then made us laugh.

Month 3 pictures are up here.

Sophie is doing great. She has been sleeping through the night for the last 2 weeks. Life has been sooooo much better now that Anna doesn't have to wake up at night to feed her. Now only if she would take a bottle. The only time she ever cries is when I try to feed her a bottle, then all !#$@ breaks loose.

We will be traveling to Portland on April 30th for Sophie's 100 day celebration. If anyone is in the Portland are feel free to stop by.

Due to popular demand ... and more than few death threats, the months 2 pictures have been updated.

It is amazing how quickly she is growing up. Why it seems like she was born just a few months ago!

She is very responsive and is trying to talk back to us. She loves to poop her biggest smiles come after she poops. The bigger the poop the bigger the smile.

Pray for Sophie; she is going to get her vaccinations this Friday at 11:30.

Sophie is getting very very chubby as you will see in her new month 2 pictures. She is now 10.5 lbs and growing. It is fascinating to see her change and see her personality come out.

She can now hold her head up, not too much control, but she definitely can look around. She is also smiling with purpose and cooing when she is happy.

Anna is not getting much sleep these days. She is the greatest wife ever. She doesn't even wake me up at night for Sophie's feedings ... don't be bitter.

It has been a hectic couple of weeks. I apologize to all of the Aunties who have been waiting for pictures. Here is week 4 and the start of month 2.

Today is Sophie's 1 month birthday. We can't believe it has already been a month! How time flies, why it was just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital. I guess what my mom says is true, time flows faster as you get older (sounds better in Korean).

My mom left today, and Anna, Sophie, and I are alone for the first time. It has been wonderful having both of our mothers visit us for such an extended period and we can't wait to have them back.  Even though we miss them terribly and don't know what we would have done without them, it feels like we are finally starting our journey as a family. To make our own mistakes and screw up our kid our way.

It is strange; I still find myself forgetting that I am a father for a split second here and there, but is it is always a joyous feeling to realize that I have a little bundle of joy that needs her diaper changed. My sister claims that I have become too touchy feely recently, but I know that she is tickled when I tell her that I love her.

Well I will try to keep up with the pictures and thanks for being patient.

P.S. Pray for Sophie she is going in for her first round of vaccinations tomorrow.

Week 2 and partial week 3 pictures are up.

Grandma and Grandpa Rho went home today. It was a very sad day. Grandma Rho was with us for the last Jan 24 and did everything for us. She cooked for us everyday and provided a tremendous amount of emotional support. We will really miss her.

Grandpa Rho came to visit today and Auntie Angela came back from Hawaii to stay with us for a few days.

Auntie Samantha and Uncle Paul came to visit. I don't believe Sam put Sophie down for more than a few minutes the whole time. She barely let Paul hold her, he had to steal Sophie from her.

Auntie Angela came to visit for one night, but she will be back next week and stay longer. Sophie is definitely lifting her head and is very alert and active. She is a very happy baby and loves everyone.

Sophie's first pictures are now up.

Sophie has a message for all of her Aunties.

"Where are you? Don't you want to see me? I'm already 7 days old,
I'm not getting any younger you know. I want to meet my aunties!"

Judy, Kong, Sharon, and Jenny came over and visited today. i don't believe Sophie was put done for a minute all day. She loves the attention.

Today when I was burping her (my official job, besides getting the diaper and wipes) she lifted her head for about 2 seconds. Never thought something so mundane would fascinate me so much.

Brought Sophie back, the treatment went well and she was discharged around 9:00 pm. We are happy to be back home.

It turns out that she likes to stick her legs straight out and kind of do leg lifts. She also like to play with her hands and always manages to pull them out. We always find her with her arms above her head.

We had to take Sophie back to the hospital today. Her bilirubin level was at 16 and the doctor said that she needed some light therapy. Anna stayed with her in the peds unit all night.

We brought Sophie for today, she is just a joy to take care of. These are some of the things that we have learned to date.

    Car rides
Cuddling with daddy (i just made this one up)

    Diaper changes

The three of us spent the night in the hospital together in the smallest room you can imagine, but they did have a cot for me which was nice. the first night Sophie kept waking up every hour or so because she was so hungry. Apparently the colostrum that Anna was producing wasn't enough and we need to supplement with formula, which we found out around 4:00am. After that she was doing great and we (by we I mean Anna and Sophie, it turns out that daddy is pretty useless) got into a good rhythm.

Sophia EunJi Lee came into this world on January 28, 2008 at 11:20 pm, missing her mothers birthday by 40 minutes.

Her vital stats:

Weight: 6 pounds 12 ounces
Length: 18.5 inches

    Cabo pictures have been added.

The Comments page is up and running; be nice :).

The church Christmas party was a great success! Karina should be a party     planner. The turnout was great

We had a great time at the small group Christmas party. This year people finally stole from each other which made it a lot more fun! Can't wait till next!

Big Bear pictures have been added

We just had our last ultrasound. You can see the pictures under Sophie's ultrasound pics.  According to the doctor everything is normal and she
is just the right size for 32 weeks.

As some of you may know, I was in Portland for a family emergency. When I came back this is what I found on the bed .... help.
